Work-charge employees appeal redress on service grievance

Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): The All Nagaland PWD (R&B) & (H) Work-Charge Employees Association (ANPWD [R&B] & [H] WCEA) has once again appealed the state government for fulfillment on certain points of grievances including release of salary and regularization of the employees.

The association in a note appended by its executives informed that in the 2003 election manifesto of the NPF, the party had committed to deliver ‘justice’ to the work-charge employees stating that the Congress government had failed to do so. The party had committed in its agenda “point No II” to reform the system and “solve the problem for flow of salary and pension.”

“As per the agendas commitment, we the work-charge employees association has earnestly requested the government and head of department for release of monthly salary to the work-charge employees” the association stated. The association also requested the present NPF-led DAN government to look into the matter of service regularization on seniority and merit basis, it informed. “As per the government’s standing order No. AR-3/GEN-67/dated Kohima the September 22, 2004, regarding policy and schemes for regularization of service 50% of all regular vacancies, first preference should be given to the senior-most work-charge employees. This was not (implemented) by the authority and appointment cent-percent to fresh applicant (s)” it lamented.

In this connection, the association appealed to the department and competent authorities to look into the matter and examine the case.
