A workshop on ‘Science and Technology communication through Folk Media (Puppetry)’ was conducted from May 30-June 4 at Kin High School, Darogathar, Dimapur. The workshop, organized by the Government Polytechnic Kohima in collaboration with National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology New Delhi, was attended by 63 participants who were taught by 4 resource persons. The workshop was conducted in order to create an additional method of Science and Technology Communication through folk media, a press note informed. The trained manpower would use this medium in a systematic way to popularize Science and Technology mainly in the rural area, it added. The participants divided into different groups were taught how to make puppets and each group with own script base on science presented it on the stage using the puppets. Certificate were awarded to all the participants who successfully participated throughout the workshop.
