Workshop on Indian Public Health Standards for Nagaland underway

Kohima, January 13 (MExN): A two-day orientation workshop for the State of Nagaland on Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) 2022 kicked started on January 13 at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima. 

The programme began with keynote address by Dr Ritu Thur, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Nagaland, National Health Mission Nagaland stated in a press release.  He said that the main objective of this workshop is to sensitise and create awareness to improve the areas of concerns in our health sector as per IPHS norms. “This orientation workshop will bring lots of benefits in service delivery for the state and also help the department improve the health indicators,” he added.

Y Kikhato Sema, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, DoHFW, Government of Nagaland while addressing the participants stated that there are great challenges faced in the health sector in our State he requested all the Officers present to propose for setting up health units only on need bases. He urged the officers to have a consultation sitting with the churches and community to work together and come into partnership in building up a community based health centres in those centres that are lying non-functional.  

The workshop comprise of offline and online mode covering topics on importance of IPHS 2022, understanding critical areas, support services, planning for IPHS and linkages with DHAP, Anemia Mukt Bharat, human resources for health, public health management cadre, challenges and possible solutions for IPHS implantation, with Prasanth KS, PHA, NHSRC, Dr Musarrat Siddiqui, NHSRC, NHSRC, Dr Surajit Chowdhary, NE-RRC.
