Dignitaries and others during workshop on National Education Policy for Polytechnic Colleges of Nagaland in Kohima on January 16.

Kohima, January 17 (MExN): A workshop on the National Education Policy (NEP) was conducted for all polytechnic colleges of Nagaland on January 16 by Lovely Professional University (LPU) in association with the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland at the Directorate of Technical Education auditorium, Kohima.
The workshop commenced with remarks by Er Vipulhou Lhoungu, Director of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland. Er Lhoungu emphasised the significance of implementing the NEP to strengthen the educational framework in technical institutions.
The session was led by Gaurav Pushkarna, Assistant Dean and Coordinator of the Division, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, Punjab.
Through an engaging and interactive approach, Pushkarna provided insights into the NEP’s transformative aspects and its implications for technical education. Attendees, including principals and faculties from various polytechnic colleges and officials from the Directorate of Technical Education, praised the quality of the training. They expressed their appreciation for LPU’s efforts and highlighted the need for similar workshops on other essential topics to empower educators with the latest trends and technologies.
The event was also graced by Tiakaba Amer, Additional Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Er David Tsela, Joint Director and Er Khrieketoulie Rupreo, Controller of Examinations. The Director and Controller of Examinations in their addresses, underscored the importance of such initiatives to equip faculty members with the necessary skills and knowledge to adapt to the evolving educational landscape.
The programme witnessed the active participation of the following principals along with their faculty members: Er V Julia Achumi, GP Wokha, Er Neisekho Chaya, Kelhoshe Polytechnic, Atoizu, Er Among Longkumer, GP Tuensang, Er Zhapulhoulie Rupreo, GP Seithekima, Er Keyiekhru Rhutso, GP Kohima, Er Neikhrove Pfuno, GP Peren, Er Hangkum Sao Chang, GP Aboi, Er. Lanusenla Longkumer, GP ICIT and Er Keduhiwe Kapfo, GP Tuensang.
The workshop was hosted by Pele George Chakre, representative of LPU for the state of Nagaland. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ruhana Begum, another LPU representative for the state of Nagaland. The event was coordinated under the supervision of Bhuvan Sareen, Zonal Head of East Zone with invaluable assistance from Atikul Husain Kshirod Kumar Saikia, LPU representatives for Assam and Arunachal Pradesh respectively.
