Workshop on opportunities for agri start ups and entrepreneurs 

Dimapur, August 11 (MExN): Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Nagaland jointly with North East Agriculture Technology Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEHUB), AAU, Jorhat organized an online sensitization workshop on opportunities for agri start ups and entrepreneurs in North East region on August 11. 

The objective of the workshop was to assist budding entrepreneurs in idea stage and early stage agri startups in NE region, stated a press release. 

Dr Abhilaksh Likhi, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, in his keynote address appreciated the initiative taken by CIH & NEATEHUB to educate, groom and promote budding agripreneurs in NE states and he encouraged to conduct more such programmes. Dr BC Deka, Vice Chancellor, AAU in his opening remarks highlighted the various activities carried out by Assam Agricultural University and encouraged the participants to utilize the technologies developed for new business ventures.

Earlier, Dr NK Patle, Addl Commissioner (Horti), DAC&FW & Director i/c CIH welcomed all the participants and set the context of the workshop. He also highlighted the various schemes of central government. Dr K Karthikeyen, CEO, NEATEHUB delivered a presentation on opportunities for agri startups and entrepreneurs of north eastern region. He mentioned details of schemes that startups and entrepreneurs can avail with mentoring from NEATEHUB.

Experience sharing was done by Dr Vedamani, Vedam Agro, Dr Priyanshu Sarma, Innotech Agropostikan, Watila Longkumer, Naro Ki, Trilukya Deka, Induluv, Bai-o, Hill group and Shivanjan Dalmia, Agrozonex. The programme was coordinated by Dr Karthikeyen, CEO, NEATEHUB and Prabin Das, Marketing Specialist, CIH. Altogether, 66 participants attended the programme.
