Workshop on rabies prevention and pig farming held in Thizama

Thizama, May 1 (MExN): A regional workshop organised by Chief AH and Veterinary office, Kohima under the National Livestock Mission - Entrepreneurship Development Program (NLM-EDP) was held at the 4th NAP Battalion, Thizama on April 30. 

The workshop was held focusing on rabies prevention and pig farming practices, stated a après release issued by Dy Commandant & PRO 4th NAP Battalion, Thizama.

Chaired by Assistant Commandant Imotemjen Jamir, the event saw participation from around 100 individuals, including officers, families and local residents.

Dr N Suokhrie (VAS, Chiephobozou) delivered a session on rabies awareness and prevention, while Dr. Elizabeth Yhome (DLDO) spoke on the economic potential and best practices of pig farming. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Asalie (Veterinary Surgeon, Kohima).

Follow-up activities included an anti-rabies vaccination campaign and door-to-door pig vaccinations in the battalion camp area, enhancing community health and livestock management.
