Kohima, September 16 (MExN): Kohima Forest Division, Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change observed the World Ozone Day in collaboration with the Government Middle School, Forest Colony, Kohima under the theme, ‘Montreal Protocol @35: Global Cooperation Protecting Life on Earth’ on September 16.
A total of 250 participants including students, teachers and staff of the Kohima Range took part in the event, stated a press release from the Range Forest Officer, Kohima Range.
Pezaneinuo Chielie, Range Forest Officer, Kohima Range in the keynote address encouraged the participants to actively and consciously be responsible for protecting the environment and contribute in individual ways towards this common goal.
Resource person, Avezo Ruho, Forester-I highlighted the causes, effects and solutions for protecting the Ozone layer.
Albert Tungoe, Head Teacher, GMS Forest Colony Kohima also gave a short speech, while Grace Peletuo-ü, teacher GMS chaired the programme. Enok Awomi teacher GMS invoked the blessings while Dziesezolie Khezhie, Forester-I proposed the vote of thanks.
