Peren, November 23 (MExN): A one day programme on World Toilet Day was organized at Samziuram Village by WSSO PHED, Peren on November 19. The programme was sponsored by Swachh Bharat Mission PHED, Kohima, according to a press release by DIPR.
During the programme, IEC Consultant, WSSO, PHED Peren, Binsaniu briefed on World Toilet Day, which was launched in 2015 as part of Agenda 2030 and the sustainable Development Goal 6 which commits the world to ensure access to water and sanitation for all by 2030. She also gave introduction on Twin Pit Latrines Technology.
Head GB cum Watsan Chairman Hingtung Chawang spoke on behalf of the Watsan Committee. He called upon the villagers to unite and work towards a better and cleaner environment. He urged people to maintain clean and hygienic latrine and also learn to adopt sustainable practices of sanitation.
Earlier, Pastor, R.K. Zendai, Rongmei Baptist Church Samziuram invoked God’s blessing. The programme was attended by Watsan members, GBs and public.
