World Vision India awards 26 mothers

Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): Aiming to ensure the wellbeing of infants below the age of fie years, World Vision India today awarded twenty-six mothers from Mon District as a token of appreciation for their participation in inculcating proper dietary practices in their households. 

A press release received here from the World Vision India, Dimapur, informed that the award was given away at a programme that was conducted by the Project at Council Hall, Mon Town in recognition of mothers practicing right nutritional behaviors.

The release disclosed that World vision has initiated this nutrition program into its developmental program with the objective of enhancing the well being of children under 5 years of age in the target communities with the anticipated outcome of reducing malnutrition among children aged 0 – 59 months. 

The nutrition program is solely focused on pregnant women and children under five (5) years of age and aims at preventing, promoting and bringing in treatment interventions in the community through “Behavioral Change Strategy”.

The release further informed that Dr. Uma, Deputy CMO of Mon town was the guest speaker who highlighted on the importance of immunization, hygiene, basic health care and proper nutrition.
