WSH demands lifting blockade on Kiyevi village

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 12 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) has urged the Nagaland State Government to ensure the lifting of the blockade of Kiyevi village by the Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation (NZPO) within 24 hours.

“In the event of the failure of the government to act upon the self-styled blockade of Kiyevi village by the NZPO, the WSH will enforce an indefinite bandh of the entire Dhasiripar sub-division and take remedial steps it deems fit to rescue Kiyevi village from the unjustified blockade,” said a press release from WSH President, Shikaho Zhimomi and Joint Secretary, Hetovi Yepthomi.

The WSH informed that it held a meeting with all its frontal organisations on August 12 and decided to withdraw itself from the Co-ordination Committee which was earlier formed between the Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) and the WSH.

It meanwhile “directed all Sumis residing in Peren district to leave the district within 48 hours of this notification until further notice.”
