Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has expressed its anguish over the “imprudent ultimatum” served by the “infamous” Karbi Peoples’ Liberation Tigers (KPLT) to the Rengma tribe of Karbi Anglong that has resulted in Rengmas leaving their homes and possessions to escape the wrath of KPLT.
The WSKH in a press note issued by President Isawoto Y. Zhimomi and General Secretary Kuhovi reaffirmed its solidarity with the Rengma Nagas and encouraged them to be united and stand steadfast against the inhuman and irrational elements so that their birth rights will be preserved at any cause.
“If the KPLT is for the liberation of its people from oppressive forces, then they should actually learn to respect the age-old ties with their neighbors and fellow citizens of the land. The KPLT is urged to retrospect the ultimatum and resort to maintain peace and harmony in the region which is the best formula to sustain advancement in socio-economic aspects,” WSKH added.
The WSKH also lauded the initiative of the KAAC for their role to sort out the ongoing difference in opinion and restore normalcy in the region. Further, the Hoho appealed the Karbi Anglong civil administration and the security forces to be on alert to avert any untoward situations.
