Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) will be organizing the Western Sumi inter-area cultural competition at Niuland Town, Dimapur on November 24.
N Jacob Zhimomi, minister for PHED, government of Nagaland will grace the inaugural function as special guest while Khekaho Aye, Senior Treasury Officer, Dimapur will be the guest of honor in the valedictory function.
Informing this, the team of WSYF office bearers said today that there is a need to promote and keep alive the rich cultural heritage of the Sumis among younger Sumi generations and organising such an event on regular basis will have more impetus in preservation of the cultural practices of forefathers. WSYF informed that the upcoming event will be the first of its kind in Western Sumi.
All the areas under Western Sumi will actively participate in the competition and winners of various events will win cash prizes along with certificates. The WSYF has urged the frontal organisations of all the areas to extend cooperation towards the youth front for the success of the mega cultural event.
