
DIMAPUR, MARCH 17 (MExN): In view the “rampant substances abuse of all forms and the associated social evils that is plaguing our society,” the Wokha Village Youth Organisation (WVYO) has resolved to conduct surprise checking within the jurisdiction of Wokha Village with immediate effect.
A press release from WVYO President, Chibenthung P Kikon and General Secretary, Echungthung Murry said that stern action will be initiated against any transport vehicle owners/shopkeepers/persons caught possessing/selling IMLF, any other drugs which are illegal under THE NDPS Act. The organisation also informed that any persons caught purchasing IMFL liquor/drugs, found under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any hours will be strongly dealt with as per the resolution of THE organisation.
In view of this, the WVYO appealed to all public/stakeholders to cooperate and report to its office, any kinds of illegal activity within its jurisdiction. As and when called for, the WVYO also affirmed to extend its full cooperation and support to any organization/union/NGOs/Government agencies to curb the menace of substance abuse and addiction in society.
