DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): The Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) has decided to shut down the GHS Chessore under DEO, Tuensang due to the failure of the School Education Department to deploy Math and Science teachers at the school. This was decided in a meeting on September 1. A press note from the YAA informed that it had submitted a representation to the Director of School Education for immediate posting of Science and Math Teachers at GHS Chessore. The government had forwarded the matter to the department to submit a proposal for posting of the said teachers to GHS Chessore before July, 2016. “Even after a month the demanded subject teachers were not posted in the school. Thus, the YAA served again another reminder to YAA Representation dated 22nd August 2016 addressed to the Commissioner & Secretary,” the YAA reminded. It however lamented that no action has been taken so far. As such, the YAA endorsed its federating units of Chessore Town Students Union and Chessore Village Students Union to shut down the school till further notice from its office.” “The Department shall be held solely responsible for any consequences. Further, it would even boycott the Teachers Day Celebration at Chessore,” the YAA cautioned.
