YAA not to tolerate ‘wound’ during session

DIMAPUR, DEC 21 (MExN): Yimchungru Akheru Arihako (YAA), the apex body of Yimchungru students’ community will hold its 39th general session from January 11 to the 14th, 2007 under the theme ‘participation in oneness’ at Shamator town. The YAA has forewarned that it would not tolerate any untoward reproach in connection to this session. (Mention may be made here that earlier, the Tikhir Students Union had asked the government of Nagaland to ban the session. The two are currently on a stand-off on the Tikhir Yimchunger identity issue).  

The YAA expresses the desire to maintain peace and tranquility in all aspects and appeals to all administrators, organizations (recognized or unrecognized), villages, individuals as well as underground groups to render their fullest possible cooperation to make the conference a grand success. In connection to the conference, YAA asserting the mandate of the whole Yimchungru community, states that  it will not tolerate even the ‘slightest wound’ which will hurt the sentiments of the Yimchungru community.

“Keeping in view the situation and condition of the present development, the YAA shall not hesitate to execute any course of action in the face of any situation which might create out of ‘non respect’ of Yimchungru community” stated its President Throngso and Information Secretary, L Chuba in a joint press note.

P Chuba Chang, Parliamentary Secretary of Art and Culture and K Yamakam, MLA, will grace the function as chief guests of the inaugural and valedictory programme respectively. Torechu, MLA and Chairman of DPDB, Kiphire and Akhum, Commandant of 10th IR will be the guests of honor of the sports and cultural programme event of the session. Keorun Janger, Member, NPSC, Toshi Wungtong, Assistant Field Officer and A. Akhang, Executive Secretary, YBBA will be the speakers. Around 10, 000 students from more than 70 villages are expected to attend the conference.
