MLA Yitachu today said the way the Governor of Nagaland is behaving it is very clear that the Constitution of India does not apply to the state of Nagaland.
Speaking at the indefinite dharna of NPF Youth Wing which entered eighth day today here, the MLA added “the way the judiciary is behaving, the way the Speaker is behaving clearly shows that the Indian legal system does not apply to the state of Nagaland.”
“Today we are fighting not for us. We are fighting for the entire Naga people,” he stated, adding the party is prepared to fight to any extent to restore the rights of the people of the state.
The dharna, according to him, is being staged to protect the people of the state and let the rule of law reign in.
Stating that many important issues and unconstitutional activities have been raised over the eight days of the dharna, he expressed surprise as to why Chief Minister TR Zeliang has not called a press conference till date to respond to the same.
Meanwhile, Akavi, president NPF Zunheboto division said, “Today we have entered 8th days of dharna against injustice, where, our visionary leaders have voiced out their resentments time and over again."
Terming the NPF a Naga people's movement, he said, it will not hesitate to take any step that is best for the Nagas. He further stated all the divisions and subordinate units are firmly behind the NPF Central Youth Wing in this particular fight for justice.
Bishnu Bhattacharjee, president NPF Minority Wing and S. Haino, secretary NPF Central Youth Wing also addressed the gathering.
