MLA Yitachu today said the sit-in protest spearheaded by NPF Central Youth Wing, which entered 11th day here today, will continue till the rule of law reigns in the State. As long as the Governor of Nagaland does not come up with justified action and till Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly takes necessary steps, the protest will continue, he asserted.
Addressing the gathering at the sit-in protest, Yitachu said despite the dharna entering 11th day, not a single response has come from the Governor till today.
“We have been raising here the unconstitutional action and activities of the Governor of Nagaland,” he said, adding the people of the state want to know how he is going to respond. “Why is he not responding till today?” he questioned.
Stating that NITI Aayog had come up with a decision that by 2022 they will make India free of corruption, Yitachu said, “Here in the state of Nagaland, the member of that NITI Aayog in the country, the Governor and the Chief Minister is running an unconstitutional government which is the highest level of corruption activities in the country.”
If the “unconstitutional government” keeps on running, it will bring more and more people, the department officers, even the elected members, offices, the contractors and suppliers under the radar of corruption, he stated.
“The people of the state want to know how he (Governor) has made so much unconstitutional action putting at risk entire state machinery under the radar of corruption,” Yitachu said.
“If we have to go by the Constitution then whatever action has taken place since July 19, 2017 is all unconstitutional and therefore every action amount to illegal action and amount to corrupt practices and Governor himself cannot be free from this corruption charges,” the MLA maintained.
Yitachu stated it is high time the Governor come out and list out the constitutional provisions, the democratic practices and under what situation and circumstances he has taken the action.
“What is the hidden agenda for Governor to continue to keep this government running? The people need to know,” he asserted.
Yitachu added that the most fundamental question is what the hidden agenda is that has made the Governor allow “this unconstitutional government to go on.”
He cannot run away without answering, Yitachu said, adding “He cannot run away by calling there should be reconciliation. If he wants true reconciliation, he should say I have made a mistake. I committed unconstitutional activities. He should come out openly.”
The MLA further maintained that the Governor cannot be free from corruption charges when allegations are put against him. “If there are corruption activities he will be answerable. He will come under the radar of corruption and that charges will start from day one on 19th July when he installed the unconstitutional government in Nagaland.”
NPF farmers’ wing president Lanukaba and NPF Central office secretary Toniho Sheqi also addressed the gathering.
