YMC: Prog to help prepare for NAAC accreditation

Dimapur, May 16 (MExN): A day long programme of ‘Quality Assurance in Higher Education among Christian Institutions - A Facilitation Endeavour’ to help in preparation of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation was held at Yemhi Memorial College (YMC), Dimapur on May 14.  

A press release from principal, YMC, Makhan Chetia stated that two member experts of the United Board (UB) peer team Dr. RW Alexandar Jesudasan, principal, Madras Christian College (Autonomous), Chennai and Dr. Marcus Boominathan, former principal, Bishop Heber College (Autonomous) Trichy conducted interactive sessions with faculty, staffs, students and other stakeholders of the college.  

Separate interactions were also held with every department, various clubs/ committees/ cells of the college.  

Dr. Marcus Boominathan also briefed the staff on the latest procedures to be adopted for accreditation by NAAC, which was followed by inspection of the college campus and the facilities.  

The programme is an initiative of few former and present principals of Christian colleges in the country to enhance education particularly in Christian institutions in India. Under this project, 15 colleges were adopted across diverse states of India of which Yemhi Memorial College is one, the release stated.  

Suggestions and recommendations were also made.
