Longleng, January 6 (MExN): The second edition of three-day Yongnyah Hongnyü Students’ Union conference was held under the motto ‘Building the future Foundation’ at Yongnyah village, Longleng from December 27 to 29, 2024.

Deputy Commissioner, Longleng W Manpai NCS, gracing the occasion as the guest of honour congratulated YHSU for organising such an event which will ameliorate the rich culture and tradition for future improvement and aspiration. 

A DIPR report stated that while stressing that Government service have reached to saturated point, he emphasized to look for other ventures and ways for growth and productivity. He released a book titled “Aiwang Shahjeb Laaitap” published during the conference which will help the students in particular for learning their native idioms and phrases, word meaning and riddles. 

The DC inaugurated cultural competition programme and have witnessed spectacular performances from different units.
Dr B Henshet, Vice Principal Yingli College, Longleng emphasised on the topic ‘Empowering Educated youths for self-employment and entrepreneurship through skill development’ pursuing at available resources to bring changes in one’s social life. 

Y Tauhong, DWO Zunheboto said that tourism has enormous opportunity to educated youth. W Balung EAC, Phek gave his thought on success in premium competitions. L Meilung Phom, Project Assistant, Tribal Affairs Department, Kohima spoke on the topic ‘education is key to development’ and C Lishen Menhahü 7th Topper of HSLC 2023 graced her speech to the audience. 

The 2nd Edition of YHSU Conference 2024 concluded by handing over Conference Flag to President YHSU by its Convenor Planning Committee B Longai which was followed by the candle light service. The conference was attended by over 300 students from five units of YHSU Kohima, Dimapur, Longleng, Yongnyah Town and Village respectively.
