
Dimapur, January 27: A team from Youngs’ Club attended the North East Youth Convention in Guwahati, organized by FST Youth Collective, Action aid and Cotton College Students Council from January 21 to 23. Another team of the Club also attended National Integration Camp in Imphal, representing Nehru Yuva Kendra Nagaland from January 21to 24.
In a press release, Youngs’ Club informed that North East Youth Convention is about connecting young people from different corners of the region, who works in social sector. 17 members from Youngs Club participated in the Convention and presented Naga folk song, Naga cultural display, western songs and PowerPoint presentation on the Club’s activities, discrimination of marginalize people, youth & drugs & HIV and Unmanifesto, a campaign to bring the voice of young people together in terms of politics, development, corruption, conflict and other social issues.
Meanwhile, the release stated National Integration Camp is about bringing youth together to promote culture, religion and also communal harmony and peace. The camp also gives opportunity to youth to improve their skills and talent through various activities and competitions, it added. Youngs’ Club, represented by 14 members, bagged Best Discipline award and second position in quiz competition during the Camp.
Both the teams have expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Jenpu Rongmei for giving them opportunity to experience new learning, and showcase their talents.
