
Tadubi, May 13 (MExN): The Mao Students’ Union (MSU) in collaboration with ProRural-Peace Coalition Northeast India (PCNI) conducted one-day workshop and seminar on May 9 on the topic ‘Youth Entrepreneurship Development’ at Kalinamai Village Community Hall, Mao. Several experts on the subject were invited to impart knowledge as resource speakers, informed a press release from Information & Publicity Wing, MSU. Adahe Neli, Co-ordinator, PCNI, one of the organizing committee members, shared the perspective of the workshop. He stated that despite the glitter and glamour of technology and wealth many youths are faced with uncertainty and hopelessness. Stressing on dignity and labour, he asserted that entrepreneurship can offer an alternative future for the youths and bring concrete possibility of social and economic empowerment to the youth and adults of tomorrow, the release said. Lezo Putsure, Director of YouthNet stressed on opportunity in entrepreneurship and availability of resource, and also identifying the right people. S. Kajichew, proprietor, North Eastern Group, also shared his story of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Pelee Hekha, Managing Director, Modern College Kohima, presented the ardent need of skill-based education system in the society to curb the problems of unemployment. Heshu Henry, Managing Director, Community Development Foundation, also shared on building foundation skills for entrepreneurship. He imparted training on pragmatic approach to become a successful entrepreneur. Besii Bosco, Chief Manager, Lead Bank, SBI Regional Business Office provided materials and imparted training on Entrepreneurship Financial Literacy. The Mao Students’ Union with an objective to help uplift the unemployed youths in the Mao region conducted the workshop with best guidance to enhance entrepreneurial skills through basic training, workshop and field visits, the release added. Youths from various villages attended the seminar.
