A press release from YouthNet informed that in partnership with Godrej CSR, YouthNet conducted a workshop on development by Lezo Putsure, Director YouthNet. The topic focused on how organizations need to look deeper into the root causes of the problems rather than bringing quick fix solutions. The after effects of development and how these must be human centric designed by building systems without which development can also lead to loss of identity, culture, ecology and exploitation.

Designed to stimulate intellects, forge relationships and challenge assumptions, the Acumen Global gathering brought together the experience and wisdom from some of today’s most dynamic and creative entrepreneurs and emerging leaders with select partners and leaders from business and civil society with the goal of building and strengthening a diverse global network committed to solving the toughest issues of our time.

The three-day journey  included  specific talks focused on where markets succeed and fail to bring critical goods to the poor, partnerships, key lessons around specific sectors (energy, agriculture, water), fighting corruption, crossing lines of difference, building businesses for the poor in post-conflict zones, and more. It also included a fair amount of values-driven work, a mix of storytelling, adaptive leadership exercises and “Good Society” discussion sessions.

Nagaland was represented by Acumen Fellows Lezo Putsure and Shiroy Lily Shaiza, Program Manager of Entrepreneurs Associates.
