
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 20 (MExN): YouthNet has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). This five-year partnership aims to empower technology-driven startups, fostering a more inclusive and robust entrepreneurial environment in the country, a press release issued by YouthNet stated on Friday.
The MoU was signed by Nuneseno Chase, Director of YouthNet, and Neikepekho Shosahie, Centre Manager of Incubation representing the organization with the MeitY Startup Hub. Besides, YouthNet is also said to be the sole organization from Nagaland and one of the select few from across India eligible to implement MeitY’s ambitious startup initiatives under the Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups.
As part of this partnership, YouthNet will operate under the aegis of MeitY Startup Hub and the Digital India Corporation, focusing on boosting entrepreneurship, economic growth, and employment generation.
The program, supported by a significant budget of 490 crores, aims to nurture startups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities. The initiative emphasizes inclusivity, accessibility, and affordability, aligning with MeitY's vision of promoting digital transformation and economic advancement.
Nuneseno Chase emphasized the transformative potential of the initiative, stating, "The startup ecosystem will stand to benefit immensely from this collaborative push. By championing entrepreneurship, we hope to inspire individuals to take bold steps toward launching the next big thing from Nagaland.”
Neikepekho Shosahie said the organization selection and inclusion in the elite program underscores the rising prominence of Nagaland in India's entrepreneurial landscape. “Our incubation centre is poised to serve as a springboard for ambitious startups, offering tailored mentorship, resources, and access to networks under the MeitY Startup Hub.”
