The Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) and Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) vividly remember Shri Richard Yimto the former SP Tuensang, who with his full zealous contribution towards Tuensang people for the upliftment and brought the situation in congenial milieu instead of dreadful situation leading to transfer from Tuensang yet, the remnants of his achievements, our people never tend to forget and therefore want to acknowledge a piece of his achievements and noble deeds.
1. On 16/06/05, as soon as he took charge of the SP Tuensang, the same day in the evening, he had escorted two dead bodies to Taithung Nullah.
2. On 17.09.05, in the case of Shri late Peter Yimchungrü, who was killed at Silonijan by the bodyguards of Shri Khalong ADC (J). Spearheaded by the then TMPO and the TMSF law and order situation in Tuensang town nearly went out of control had it not been fro the timely and wise decisive acts of the SP the situation might have turned ugly.
3. In Oct. ’05, he and his team of officers went to Noklak for the safe release of three kidnapped government servants from Kiphire.
4. In Dec. ’05, when agitators blockade from Tuensang town to Shamator town, SP risking his very life rushed to Shamator at midnight and prevented from burning the NST bus and also rescued eight other vehicles from the clutches of the agitators. Had it not ben timely intervention of the SP the situation would have not been averted.
5. Then the latest 15th Aug. ’06 episode at Tuensang is still afresh in our minds. One cannot but deeply appreciate the most noble and humane act of the SP by not directly confronting the riotous mob that nearly took a very unpleasant law and order situation that day. We thank God for saving the situation that day.
We deeply appreciate the dedication, efficiency and the numerous good works he had done for the unit and the police department during his short tenure. Apart from his hectic official duty, his contribution and co-operation to the NGOs and various social organizations and churches is no doubt highly plausible and ineffable.
To conclude, we the YTC and the YAA salute the good deeds of Shri Richard Yimto. Keep it up dear Richard! Your short tenure has been a blessing for us. How much more can an officer do in a short time. We wish him and his family all the very best in future.
