The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India organized Yuva Utsav 2023 also known as Youth Festival was held at Town Hall, Mokokchung on June 28. The youth festival was organised in collaboration with District Administration, Mokokchung and held under the theme ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal.’

Tsüvisie Phoji, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung attended the festival as the guest speaker. While addressing the gathering, the DC shed light on why the youth festival is celebrated. He placed special emphasis on the theme ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal’ which stands for five things: first, move forward with greater resolve and the resolve of a ‘developed’ India; second, erase all evidence of servitude; third, be proud of our legacy; fourth, the strength of our unity; and fifth, the responsibilities of citizens, including the PM and CMs.

He pointed out that the festival’s major goal was to inculcate a sense of patriotism in young people because they would be the leaders of tomorrow.

Competitions were held in five different disciplines, which included poetry, mobile photography, cultural dance, declamation, and painting. Youths from various schools and colleges in Mokokchung participated in the competitions.
