
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 14 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland has written to the Deputy Commissioner, Peren calling for immediate action against what it called ‘anti-social elements vis-à-vis boycotting the 66th Independence Day celebration at Peren. A copy of the letter signed by ZB (N) General Secretary Azeu Namcyn Hau and made available to the media has pointed out that a ‘banned outfit’ under the banner of Zeliang People Organization (ZLPO) has called for boycotting the upcoming 66th Independence Day at Peren.
The letter to the DC Peren has described the intention of the ZLPO as a criminal conspiracy and that the “unlawful assembly of the ZLPO must be appropriately dealt with”. The letter stated that the ZB (N) was strongly against such “criminal intimidation and instigation” and for disrupting a national occasion like the nation’s Independence Day.
“ZB along with its frontal organizations strongly opposes this unlawful act led by so called Azu Newmai and Kisamyi Irangguang, self-styled President and General Secretary of ZLPO”, the letter stated. The ZB (N) also stated that it will be forced to take its own course of action if appropriate and prompt action is not taken at the earliest for keeping law and order situation in the district intact.
