Zbto: PWD field workers seek rectification of details in PIMS

Zunheboto, September 26 (MExN): The Zunheboto Unit of PWD Field Workers’ Association on Sunday wrote to the Engineer-in-Chief, Nagaland Public Works Department, drawing attention to the anomalies in the department’s PIMS platform and the ongoing physical verification exercise of personnel. 

PIMS or Personal Information Management System is a web-enabled personnel management system of the Nagaland state government that tracks and records service details of government employees from the date of joining service until their retirement from service.

In a press release, the association extended support to the demand places by the All Nagaland PWD Field Workers’ Association’s (ANPWDFWA) with regard to rectification of work-charge details which were wrongly uploaded in the department’s PIMS platform

In this regard, the association stated that while most of the work-charge employees, especially ‘fixed labourers’ are on the verge of retirement after attaining the length of service and superannuation age, “However, the Department has no concern for us,” as the salaries of those who were ‘Aadhaar qualified’ and verified by the Department under category A & B have not been released from March 2021 to September 2021. In addition, other category labourers have not received their salary for more than 17 months now, it said, while appealing the concerned authority to release the pending salaries within in due course of time. 

On the matter of physical verification of employees, the association stated that Aadhaar verification of all the work-charged employees under NPWD has been taken up and employees have been placed under various categories. Whereas most of the genuine W/C employees were placed under Category C & D, it pointed out that some of the genuine employees whose documents and details have not been verified by the Department Aadhaar Verification Officer were placed under the same category. 

As such, it cautioned against the termination of any of its genuine employees after the physical verification and stated that the department would be held responsible in case of failure to comply with its demand.
