
Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Civil Organisations and the Nagaland Tribes Council have welcomed the signing of ‘September Joint Accordant’ between the NSCN (IM) and the Working Committee, NNPGs through the effort of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) on September 14 last.
The Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) consisting of Zeliangrong Baudi, Zeliangrong Youth Front and Zeliangrong Student's Union said they are hopeful that by the signing of the joint accordant, the violent ridden Naga society will now onwards witness violent free atmosphere in all the Naga areas irrespective of jurisdiction and territorial of States and regions.
The Media and Publicity Cell, ZCOs in a statement said that the organisation highly hail the decision of the political groups and envisaged the latest development as a positive sign to the Naga political issue which has been dragging on sans settlement for decades.
“The wisdom and the pledge of the leaders of the Naga political groups at this juncture is a right step and the initiative of the people particularly the leaders of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) who play pivotal role in bringing the political groups together deserves praiseworthy,” ZCOs stated.
It also expressed hope that the parties of the joint accordant will surely abide and adhere to its pledge of commitment to usher in complete peace and tranquillity in the region.
The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) through its Media Cell stated that the declaration of agreement to cease hostility between Naga brothers is a welcome measure and should endure in all times to come. “May our people uphold and sustain the grace and love of the Almighty God in whose Name such an instrument had been signed,” NTC stated.
