Kohima, November 12 (MExN): The Chief Minister of Nagaland, TR Zeliang has extended warm greetings to the Sumi community on the joyful occasion of Ahuna Festival.
“I, on behalf of the Government of Nagaland, extend greetings to the Sumi community on the occasion of Ahuna Festival, a festival celebrated to invoke God’s blessings and to render gratitude to the creator, Zeliang said in a message.
The festival, which the people celebrate by feasting, merry-making and thanks-giving, is a reward of hard work and patience by an abundant harvest, he said.
As a part of the celebration, the CM also called for a renewed vigour and determination to safeguard and preserve the rich cultural heritage and to courageously nurture the land, its resources and the rich traditions associated with it.
“On this auspicious occasion, I take this privilege to wish the Sumi community a happy and meaningful Ahuna celebration filled with humility, love and forgiveness,” he further conveyed.
