Dimapur, June 27 (MExN): Strongly condemning the recent landmine blast at Athibung which claimed the life of one underground cadre, “even after the use of landmines have been condemned and banned by the United Nations,” the Zeliangrong Baudi (Hoho) has warned that it would be forced to “evacuate anybody or faction” if any more such unwanted “hazardous” accidents takes place in the district. The Baudi also asked those responsible for planting the landmine to consider the repercussions of such actions if in place of the cadre, an innocent child or women or an innocent farmer was killed by the explosive.
“Every community can remain silent only to a point, but when various elements go beyond the limit, the Zeliangrong public will not remain silent spectators for the Naga blood not only runs through the veins of the various factions but in each Naga be it an officer, a farmer or a simple villager. Enough is enough, for it is only the Indian government who stands to gain if we continue killing each other” a release for the Zeliangrong Baudi issued through Press Secretary Kedi Haralu, stated. The Baudi expressed strong regret that landmines were planted at Athibung forest, one of which killed an underground cadre and gravely injuring another “just after a massive peace rally was held at Jalukie town”. This, the Hoho reminded, endangered the innocent civilians.
“A war is a war and a battle is a battle, but one should fight as a gentleman and not use damaging tactics, for it is hazardous for the locals of the area. One should consider the repercussions of such actions if in the place of the cadre, an innocent child or women or an innocent farmer was killed by the mine” the Hoho stated.
In this regard the Zeliangrong Baudi strongly appealed to all factions to restrain their cadres from endangering innocent civilians if they desire moral support of the people “otherwise the Baudi will be forced to evacuate anybody or faction if such unwanted hazardous accidents takes place” in the district. “It is high time for the various factions to sit down and put their heads together and forgive each other and let peace prevail in Peren District. The Baudi appeals to the leaders of all factions to show maturity and look for the Lord’s guidance before taking any action or measures” it added.
