
Dimapur, September 12 (MExN): Public members of Jalukie in Peren district today said to have unanimously decided to “allow” the Nagaland government to shift the headquarter complex to the new site at the earliest. The Zeliangrong public met in a “general public consultation” in Jalukie today, the Zeliangrong Baudi informed in a press release today. It was unanimously “resolved to allow the Government to shift to Peren New HQ at the earliest time possible. The Public resolved to fully support and endorse the decision of the government to shift to the new site and to this effect, public Representations to the Government would be submitted by the apex tribal hoho, the Zeliangrong Baudi.” “Resolving to initiate ‘stern action’ against those individual or groups opposing the process of shifting to the New HQ, an ‘action committee’ was formed to which all the village representatives present agreed to depute their youths to assist the committee in all its missions,” the Zeliangrong Baudi said.
The ‘baudi’ also said it has “resolved to fully support the decision of the government in recognising Rongmei community as the 17th Indigenous Tribe in Nagaland.” The press release was signed by the organization’s president K Akhang and general secretary Azeu Namcyn Hau.
