Zeliangrong Baudi wants statements deleted from social network site

Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland has stated that it do not intend to push itself or interfere in the business of Facebook users but due to issues that need immediate attention, this appeal is being made public.

A press release issued by the Zeliangrong Baudi stated that it is neither ZB’s intention to comment on constructive criticisms, arguments and debates in social networking sites nor dictate the views of users or curtail freedom to expressions of users. However, as things could have it, some Facebook users have started posting “vulgar and abusive” statements on senior Zeliangrong leaders. More unwanted posts seems to be finding its way to this popular site which are highly degrading, insulting and embarrassing; even going to the extent of spreading communal violence through this particular site. ZB warns “those FB users responsible to immediately delete their statements from the site and stop making such sick remarks in the future or face bitter consequences.”

Meanwhile, Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland during its meeting held on February 13 also resolved to extend full support to the stand of the NBCC and calls for ‘peaceful election’ across the State. While lauding the tireless effort of the NBCC in keeping the election fever under control till date, ZB urge the church leaders especially in Peren District to apply the same yardstick to all political parties irrespective of party policies, programmes, manifestoes and affiliations. “Rising above party politics, church leaders without any bias must take up the issue in true Christian spirit as the whole concept of Clean Election would mean nothing if church leaders themselves gets involved in corrupt and unwanted practices,” ZB President K. Akhang and General Secretary Azeu Namcyn Hau stated in the release.

ZB also appeal the Naga National workers to abstain from disturbing the election process in both 7 Peren and 6 Tening Constituencies but encourage public to exercise their adult franchise without any fear. “ZB sincerely hopes that those involved in using threats and force will reflect on their actions and its detrimental consequences. There is no reason to harm a brother or sister as a means of resolving petty differences. Election or no election, Zeliangrongs are still one,’ the release stated.

The Baudi also added that ‘Naga undergrounds must restraint themselves from unnecessary interferences taking into account our poor villagers who are living under constant fear and insecurity as the February 23 polls approach.’ ZB appeals the Naga undergrounds to maintain patience, sincerity and commitment while carrying out their National duties to keep peace and tranquility intact and hope that all factions will adopt non-violence, mutual respect, and understanding and love even pray for the Naga cause to move towards its logical end.
