Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The first consultative meeting of the Zeliangrong Naga National Workers and Zeliangrong Civil Organizations was held at Punglwa village on June 27.
According to a press release, the house deliberated several issues pertaining to Zeliangrong people, especially its history, land and most importantly the reaffirmation on support the Naga political solution.
The members present in the meeting reaffirmed to have unity among the Zeliangrongs living in different parts of the state.
“After thorough deliberation on the separate Kuki Region of NNC-PB, the house resolved to oppose the existence of any separate body other than the tag of Zeliangrong Region NNC-Parent Body 2nd Bn D Company Athibung area,” the release informed.
Further, the house resolved to support the delimitation move by the delimitation commission of India for equal representatives in the state assembly.
The meeting was attended by ZUF Chairman RaituChawang, Member of Working Committee NNPGS Liangkebo, host ZLR National Workers from NNC-Parent body, NNPGS, ZUF, GPRN/NSCN along with CSOs comprising of Chairmen Union Peren District, GBs Union Peren District, Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland, Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland, Zeliangrong Mipui Organization Nagaland, Zeme Council, Liangmai Council respectively.
