Peren, July 30 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Youth Organization Nagaland (ZYON) has issued a condemnation of the NSCN-K (Khango) for its recent threats of capital punishment.
The organization emphasized that such actions are unacceptable and undermine the principles of fairness and justice upheld by Naga society.
In a letter of condemnation, ZYON expressed deep disturbance over the threats, highlighting that capital punishment is non-existent in Naga culture.
The organization stated that demands, threats, and intimidation have no place in a civilized society and are alien to Naga traditions.
ZYON called upon all right-thinking citizens to condemn these threats to pave the way for a peaceful society.
They expressed support for the actions taken by the Angami Youth Organization (AYO), joining them in their call for justice. ZYON urged authorities and organizations to take immediate and decisive steps to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents in the future.
"Our solidarity with AYO is firm and resolute," the statement read. "An attack on a Naga individual is an attack on all Nagas. We stand together in the struggle, committed to defending the rights and dignity of all Nagas."
