An initiative of Department on Land Resources (DoLR), Nagaland Ziku Coffee Bar was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Wati Aier on International Coffee day at Kiphire on October 1.

Launching coffee bar at Ziku Resort, the DC Kiphire thanked the DoLR for taking the noble initiative of promoting coffee in the district. Stressing on the importance in creating an avenue for self sustenance, he expressed hope that with the launching of coffee bar it will boost local economy and encourage local coffee farmers in the district.

Pointing out that for any business to sustain and progress, it is vital for local entrepreneurs and farmers to always maintain quality over quantity, the DC also expressed hope that the launching of the coffee bar will inspire local entrepreneurs and farmers to take up coffee farming in the district. 

The DC also assured of all cooperation and support from the administration towards the department in promoting coffee in the district.

Welcoming the gathering, Lipichem DPO, DoLR stated that the department is taking the initiative to promote coffee in Nagaland and at the same time, creating an avenue for the farmers to sale their product connecting it with the market.

He also added that the goal is to encourage farmers to take up coffee farming to enable farmers to be self-sustaining.
Local entrepreneurs and owner of Ziku Resort Yangkhong sharing his experience thanked the department for training him in coffee making and management. He also assured that he will extend training and technical know-how to all those interested youths in making of coffee.
