ZMO-N demands action against IAS officer accused of sexual harassment

DIMAPUR, APRIL 25 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Mipui Organization, Nagaland (ZMO-N) has condemned what it described as “serious allegations of molestation and sexual harassment” reportedly committed by Joint Secretary Reny Wilfred, IAS, during his tenure with the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN).

In a press statement issued on April 25, ZMO-N said it was “deeply disturbing” that the officer continues to serve as Joint Secretary, Finance, despite the severity of the accusations against him and the ongoing legal proceedings in connection with the Noklak sexual assault case. “These circumstances warrant urgent attention from the highest levels of state administration to ensure proper adherence to established protocols and legal frameworks,” the organization stated. “This is unacceptable and reflects a systemic failure to safeguard women in the workplace.”

The organization reiterated its stance on upholding the dignity and rights of women, expressing solidarity with all survivors of gender-based violence. “The ZMON reaffirms its commitment to fighting for the dignity and rights of women and will continue to stand with all survivors of gender-based violence,” it said.

The statement further appealed to the appropriate authorities to expedite the ongoing proceedings. “As an organization we appeal the concern authority to hasten the proceeding ensuring justice delivered under relevant laws,” it said.
