The Zeliang People Organisation Nagaland, a mandate civil society representing the Zeliang Community of Peren district, Nagaland hereby clarify that the news caption “ZPO chose to back tract” which appeared in leading local dailies on January 29 on “Government clarifies on Rongmei tribe recognition” in the last para does not carry the voice of the Zeliang people as stated, the ZPO referred to here is only a registered society bearing registration No. GAS-RS/4918/2006, with a few selfish and self-style leaders, who always goes against the wishes of the peoples.
Therefore, the mandate of ZPO (N) stood firmly with the decision of the government in recognition of Rongmei as an indigenous tribe of Nagaland.
