Peren, May 20 (MExN): Zeliang People's Organisation (ZPO) Nagaland has appreciated the “corrective measure” undertaken by the Chief Secretary regarding an invitation to the special meeting of all tribal hohos convened by the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) on May 11, 2018.
“Though the Zeliang People's Organisation (ZPO) Nagaland would have anticipated that the clarification was made public from the concerned office through mass media…, on the whole, the ZPO Nagaland is now appreciative of the corrective measure undertaken by the office of the Chief Secretary in the manner of having written a clarification letter apologizing about the confusion that was created which although was received late,” stated a press release from ZPO (N) Media Cell.
It also lauded all those “who stood the ground” with it “expressly substantiating and coming out stoutly supporting the legitimate identity of the indigenous Zeliang people of Peren district.”
“It is now hoped that whatever is undesirable for the society is eschewed from here on, do something impossible and catch the imagination of the people and make every effort to ensure that good sense prevail,” the release added.
