ZRSU calls for completion of road repairs

DIMAPUR, MAY 11 (MExN): The Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) has written to the Executive Engineer, NH, Mokokchung Division urging repair of blacktopping within Zunheboto Town and NH-702 A Zunheboto to Asukhomi. The ZRSU informed that carpeting of road within Zunheboto town jurisdiction under National Highway project which underwent blacktopping during October-November 2017 is already deteriorating and “will be soon obliterated by the fall of monsoon.” “The blacktopping was supposed to be done from Kakheho Sukhalu, ex MLA's residence New Colony till petrol pump. However, the New Colony portion is yet to be carpeted,” it claimed.

It meanwhile stated that blacktopping under National Highway project stretching from Zunheboto to Asukhomi 2017 (6 months approx.) is now in a deplorable condition due to poor workmanship. The union therefore called for repair as well as completion of the unfinished portions during May 2018 for convenience of commuters. “In the event of failure to comply to our request, the union shall resort to its own ways and means, till our request is fulfilled,” it added.
