ZUNHEBOTO, MAY 15 (MExN): The Zunheboto Range Students' Union (ZRSU) has strongly appealed to the Principal of Zunheboto Government College to withhold the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the proposed transfer of an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education to Dimapur Government College.
In a letter addressed to the Principal, ZRSU expressed deep concern over the government order dated May 12 which recommends the Assistant Professor's attachment in connection with the postgraduate programme in Dimapur.
While acknowledging the Higher Education Department’s efforts to strengthen academic programmes, the union stated that the move would “seriously disrupt” the academic flow for Education students at Zunheboto Government College.
“At this point in the academic session, removing a faculty member without an immediate replacement is not only unfair but detrimental to students’ learning and future,” the union stated, citing ongoing syllabus commitments and faculty shortage. The ZRSU urged the college authority not to issue the NOC without prior consultation with the student body and the All Sümi Students' Union (SKK). It requested that the transfer be deferred until proper academic alternatives are arranged.
