DIMAPUR, April 18 (MExN): The Zunheboto Sadar GBs Association (ZSGBA) and Zunheboto Range Students Union (ZRSU) have reacted to the news statement jointly issued by (general secretary) Sumi Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho and All Sumi Students Union which appeared in on April 14 in a local daily terming the statement as unjustified and self contradictory.
In a strong reaction to the statement, ZSGBA President Nkiye Zhimo and ZRSU President Semto L Sumi on behalf of the general public of Zunheboto in a press note stated that the decision to seek clarification from the leaders of the respective Sumi NGOs with regard to the readjustment draft proposal was taken at the meeting held at Zunheboto including the ZSGBA, ZRSU and leaders of the area and not the duo leaders.
Taking a dig at the trio organizations statement that the decision made on March 21 and 22 was a consensus decision of Sumi NGOs, the statement stated that behind the resolution, the draft proposal to the villages of the area was prepared by the leaders of the respective NGOs, however, the same was rejected by the members as it was made without the knowledge and consent of the concerned area.
Later on it was heard that the proposal was not submitted. However, on the readjustment to the assembly constituencies, the adjustment was appeared as per their (NGOs) earlier draft proposal. Expressing dismay over the trio leader’s statement that cautioned the presidents of ZSGBA and ZRSU to be held responsible of any untoward consequences, the statement insisted on the conscientious leaders not to lay the blame on the individual when the decision was taken by the general.
Also countering the latter statement that denounces the duo leaders of the area for urging them to clarify their position, the statement stated that they have a sole right to ask for clarification since the decision was against their will. Furthermore, the duo leaders appealed to charismatic Sumi leaders of different organization to take decision for the interest of the general public in order not to create any ‘consequences’.
