Zunheboto, June 24 (MExN): The Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) has fixed the maximum retail prices (MRP) of meat sold within its jurisdiction with effect from June 24 in the interest of public service and to ensure fair pricing of essential commodities.
According to an order issued by ZTC Chairperson K Herato Sukhalu on June 24, the price of pork meat and mithun meat has been fixed at Rs 350 per kg each, while local pork meat will be sold at Rs 360 per kg.
The council has fixed the prices of pork hock/trotter, pork intestine, beef meat and mithun intestine at Rs 300 per kg each.
Beef intestine and mithun leg will be sold at Rs 250 per kg, while beef leg has been fixed at Rs 200 per kg, the order stated.
The ZTC directed all butchers and meat retailers operating within Zunheboto town to strictly adhere to the approved rates.
It cautioned that any violation of the fixed prices, including the sale of meat at exorbitant rates, would attract penalties and could lead to the revocation of trade permits.
The order further stated that regular inspections would be carried out by the ZTC enforcement team to ensure compliance with price regulations and quality standards.
The notification, issued with the approval of the Administrator of the Zunheboto Town Council, will remain in force until further notice.
