Zubaan to release ‘Through Her Eyes’ on Nov 15

Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): To celebrate the annual ‘Cultures of Peace Festival of the Northeast,’ Zubaan will be releasing a song that “pays tribute to nature and the environment.”

According to a press release from Zubaan, nine women artists from Northeast India have come together to create a rich musical tapestry in six different languages and a unique meld of musical genres. The song will be premiered on November 15 at 4:00 pm on the Zubaan YouTube channel.

Contributing a verse each are artists Tipriti Kharbangar, Tetseo Sisters, Mangka, Moarenla, Sunita Bhuyan and Anungla Zoe Longkumer, supported by music, chorus and audio production by Mhaseve MKT Tetseo, with Imchatsung Imchen as artistic consultant and video editor.

It stated that titled, ‘Through Her Eyes’, the song is each artist’s poetic tribute to the mother principle present in all of nature and humanity, and as you listen to it, its melody and verses soak into the listener’s head, almost as if by osmosis and you find yourself wanting to listen again and again. “The visual locations – each different from the other - showcase the beauty of nature in the hills and lakes of Northeast India, the Aravalli Hills in Rajasthan and Powai Lake in Maharashtra,  and also call for repeated watching!” Zubaan stated.

The music video is curated and directed by Anungla Zoe Longkumer and produced by Zubaan in association with Heinrich Böll Stiftung Regional Office New Delhi.
