Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) conducted a ‘Zeliangrong political movement consultative meeting’ with various stakeholders in New Delhi on April 1.
Leaders of Zeliangrong civil organizations and Students’ Union from Delhi, Chennai, Pune, and Guwahati as well as senior leaders, intellectuals, research experts and scholars from Delhi and other cosmopolitan cities of India and elsewhere attended meeting held at Parish Hall, Civil Lines, New Delhi, informed a press release received here.
The consultation, organised and moderated by Zeliangrong Students’ Union Delh, was held with the objectives of providing a common platform for sharing the latest position and circumstances leading to the current political scenario with the Government of India (GoI), it said.
The consultation concluded with observations and shared understanding made on the Zeliangrong political movement, added the release issued by Alur Seikho, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), ZUF.
As per the release, one “clear sounding view” of the event was the affirmation that the Zeliangrong movement is a “political problem” and there must be politically pursued in a peaceful and democratic manner of which the ZUF has entered a mutual and official agreement with the GoI on the December 27, 2022.
Certain misgivings in social media regariding the content and intent of the agreement (CoO) were clarified and questions answered, it maintained.
It was further observed that the movement is a “collective and inclusive cooperation and participation of all the sections of Zeliangrong kindred people,” it added.
April 1 was chosen as the day for the consultation remembering the historic event of Zeliangrong Solidarity Day, the ZUF’s release said.
The Chukthoibe/Chukthoibo/Chuksumei’ was a day of ‘great coming together of Zeliangrong kindred people’ when they accept and forgive each other and united under an act of ritual performance conducted on the April 1, 1934 at Dailong Tamenglong, it informed.
The Day signifies our great reunion after the end of head-hunting era and thereafter the flourishing and prosperity of the Zeliangrong kindred people leading to this far, it added.
At the consultative meeting, ZUF Chairman Jenchui Kamei, urged the house and people to come together for a collective action.
He re-asserted of his magnanimous sense of general pardon and welcome all people to come on board together for a greater and stronger unified force towards finding common fulfillment of the Zeliangrong kindred peoples’ aspiration, the release added.
