Sovima, May 15 (MExN): Zungki Slingers and Dhansiri Titans won their respective matches as the 3rd Edition Women's Champions Trophy, organised by the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), kicked off today in Sovima.

In the inaugural clash at Sovima Cricket Ground, Zungki Slingers dominated Dikhu Strikers with a commanding 120-run triumph.
Posting a formidable total of 249 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, the Slingers left the Strikers struggling as they collapsed at 129 runs, falling short by 120 runs.

Talirenla Pongen of the Slingers was declared with the 'Player of the Match' title for her outstanding all-round display, contributing 91 runs and claiming 4 wickets.

Meanwhile, at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Dhansiri Titans secured a 4-wicket victory over Doyang Queens, in the second match.
Restricting the Queens to a modest total of 118 runs, the Titans chased down the target with 4 wickets in hand.

Titans’ Alemienla was awarded the 'Player of the Match' title for her stellar performance with both bat and ball, scoring an unbeaten 59 runs and picking up 3 wickets.
The trophy will be held from May 15-20.
