Dimapur, Feb 2 (MExN): Zunheboto contractors are concerned that the liabilities in the DLVC list of Zunheboto district has been pending for more than two decades and they belong to many individuals who cannot afford to register in the NCSU. Immediate action is being demanded in this regard. Failure would invite an own course of action from the association “and not be held responsible”.
Zunheboto Contractors Association, while appreciating the DAN government for having concern for local contractors and suppliers of the district by releasing LOC to clear liabilities, also viewed necessary the government’s intervention in the mode of payment being initiated by Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Association, Kohima.
“That the liabilities in the DLVC list of Zunheboto district has been pending more than the last two decades and belongs to many individuals who cannot afford to register in the NCSU” stated a note appended by Khekuto Zhimomi, president of the association. The association, while appreciating the NCSU for making efforts to release the pending liabilities, also informed that local contractors are still yet to receive any payment for many years “as the system of NCSU payment through list policy were availed to only a few registered contractors of the NCSU and the local contractors have been neglected”.
Zunheboto contractors also took cognizance that even during the current release of LOC, the NCSU is preparing a list system. “…it is our most ardent and humble request that your esteemed authority intervene to help our local contractors by making equal percentage payment as per total amount of LOC received against the existing DLVC list of all concerned departments” the association appealed to the government and sought immediate action in this regard.
