
Zunheboto, October 16 (MExN): Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall on October 15 under the chairmanship of the DC, Peter Lichamo. The meeting approved registration of three new societies, namely, Seven sister women society, Alumni Association (Zunheboto Government College) and Parent-teacher Association (Zunheboto Government College).
The Board also forwarded the request for construction of Riverine Fishery project for community bio-diversity conservation and riverine fishery at Zaphu river stream as an alternative to jhum cultivation and an additional source of income. DC directed the PWD department to hand over a complete list of all active labourers to check the concerns of the board members on town maintenance.
The DC further reminded all the departments of the district to strictly implement the ban of single use plastic and asked them to act as an example for the people of the district. The next DPDB meeting will be held on 8th November, 2019.
