Advisor, Land Resource Development, Ikuto Ikuto Zhimomi with officials and others at the inaugural of the 4-day night carnival commemorating the 50th year of Zunheboto district cum Ahuna festival at District Sports Council Ground, Zunheboto on November 11.
Zunheboto, November 12 (MExN): Commemorating the 50th year of Zunheboto district (Golden Jubilee) cum Ahuna festival, a 4-day night carnival began at District Sports Council Ground, Zunheboto on Saturday.
Gracing as the inaugural function programme guest, Advisor, Land Resource Development, Ikuto Zhimomi lauded all the NGOs, Government department, civil societies, self help group, entrepreneurs, church groups and individuals taking part in the exhibition and night carnival even “on such a short notice.”
He added that the right decision was taken by the Jubilee Planning Board, Sumi Hoho along with Legislatures of the district to combine Ahuna Festival and District golden jubilee celebration “because Ahuna Festival was a part of Tribal festival with the support of State Government as an annual event.”
The advisor said that jubilee celebration was a rare event which comes only after 25 years, 50 years, 100 years and so on, therefore, the efforts taken to make arrangements for combining the two events was highly appreciated, stated a press release from the organising committee.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Mopling Phon EAC and dedicatory prayer was done by Nupato Zhimomi, Asst Youth Leader ZTSBC.
