Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): Warning that there will be “bloodshed” if the Delimitation Commission affects the delimitation exercise in Zunheboto, the public of the district has decided to march to Kohima to register its resentment against the commission.
According to Zunheboto’s Deputy Commissioner CK Nihekhu Sema, the public of 33 Suruhuto Assembly Constituency staged a silent procession and met the DC demanding that the A/c be retained. Informing that the public held the view that “the delimitation chairman has smashed 33 A/c Suruhuto as it was done to Hiroshima,” the public also submitted a memorandum making clear that if the commission affects delimitation in Suruhuto, Zunheboto DC will be held solely responsibility for any eventuality. “It is not only Suruhuto. Even the public of Aghunato, Akuluto, Zunheboto and Satakha are sending various threatening messages” the DC stated in the note.
Also, the Zunheboto Division Contractors’ Association (ZDCA) demanding payment of government bills, has also called off its agitation on receiving assurance from the DC and SP that the matter will be personally discussed with the concern minister.
“Law and order is tense but under control” the DC informed but appealed to the commission, on Zunheboto’s behalf, to reconsider its earlier proposal and “allow the public leaders of Zunheboto district, (legislators) and district administration to jointly work out according to adjustability without inviting serious law and order problem.” The DC also appealed to the department of W&H to consider what he stated is the genuine grievances of ZDCA and “release the long-pending bills in the DLVC list.”
