
Zunheboto, November 12 (MExN): A district review meeting was held on November 12 at Sumi Kukami Hoho Ki, Zunheboto in view of the upcoming intensified COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ (Door to Door).
The meeting took place in presence of the Deputy Commissioner Peter Lichamo, and was attended by the Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers and concerned nurses of all the CHCs and PHCs.
Dr Zathung Lotha, CMO who chaired the programme, stated that for 2 years the District health society has focused mainly on COVID-19, and stressed that it is time to reactivate other routine activities simultaneously.
The Deputy Commissioner spoke about the drawbacks of the vaccination drive, where the district performance is good as per head count but not according to the census and also due to migration to other districts/states. Regarding reluctance where people refused to get vaccinated, the DC requested the District Health Society to vigorously push forward to make Zunheboto a 100% vaccinated district.
Dr Hokugha, DVBO addressed about the main agendas of the meeting, talks on the scientific session of COVID-19 containment, surveillance and management in rural and urban areas.
Deputy CMO, Dr Akaho also addressed the participants about non communicable diseases (NCD) screening. He stated that NCD is an important parameter in addressing health issues and spoke about how it is currently the leading cause of preventable deaths in India.
